Sirens at winter stadiums and cold stores

Typical hazards

As a rule, ammonia-based refrigeration technology is used for the production of ice in winter stadiums or cold in climate-controlled environments of cold stores.  Ammonia with its chemical, physical, toxicological or biological properties may be hazardous to human life, health and property. The same or similar refrigeration technology is used in a lot of fields in the food-processing industry, which poses the same risk.

Sirens at winter stadiums and cold stores

Solution description

The implementation of a simple warning system including a stand-alone electronic siren is recommended to protect the employees of a winter stadium and its visitors, and the general population and property against the consequences of potential emissions of hazardous substances.

Such electronic siren is used for both early warning and monitoring purposes as well as for processing the sensor data about potential dangers. It is possible to program the electronic siren for automatic or manual activation using the remote control RCU15 or the operators’ control panel OCP16 respectively, depending on a customer’s needs and the relevant legislation.

Advantages of the solution

  • Simple automated warning system (monitoring ammonia emissions and then activating the siren automatically)
  • High-quality acoustic  coverage of the whole winter stadium or cold store area from a single spot
  • Complete silent autodiagnostics without making disturbing noise in the neighbouring area
  • Reproduction of pre-recorded audio announcements or voice messages from the siren’s digital memory /SD cards/ in WMA, MP3 formats
  • Possibility of pre-programming responses to a wide variety of inputs
  • Power supply from maintenance-free batteries
  • Smart battery re-charging, optimizing the charging current according to the modern algorithms recommended by manufacturers, thus prolonging a battery life
  • Absolute reliability and resistance as a result of a number of the company’s implementations all over the world
