Central Communications Unit (CCU)

A device to connect a computer equipped with the Vektra® system of modern software applications or the OCP16 Operator’s control unit to a radio network that is used for siren control. The CCU Central Communication Unit supports digital and analogue radio networks, while it is also possible to transmit data from monitoring devices (such as the presence of harmful substances, meteorological data, etc.) to the Vektra® software applications. These data are evaluated and in case of an emergency sirens can be activated automatically. The CCU function can be performed directly by the Pavian electronic siren.

Retranslation Station (RS)

A device to increase the range of audio signal within an analogue radio network. It receives signals from the Central Communications Unit (CCU) and further sends/retranslates them to distant sirens and vice versa. As each siren contains a radio modem and is able to fulfil the function of a retranslation station, a vast area can be covered with a radio signal very cost-effectively. At the same time, special communications algorithms allow to activate sirens extremely fast as well as to provide feedback on successful siren activation.
