SEHIS -
Slovak Republic - warning and notification system

Country: Slovakia

SEHIS is a complex public warning and notification system in Slovakia, based on technological solutions of the national warning system developed by Telegrafia a. s. At present, this system involves more than 3,000 sirens (1100 of which are modern electronic sirens PAVIAN, which are gradually replacing the discarded old engine types) operated from thirty warning centres.

The words of Ing. Ján Repa, director of the Civil Protection Authority at the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, prove the high quality and high standard of our technological solutions:
"This system has proven to be absolutely effective. It is really comprehensive and modern, enabling us to meet all of the required features. The fact that it is gradually implemented not only in Slovakia, but also in the neighbouring countries is the evidence of its success."

A comprehensive public warning system in the German city of Dresden

Country: Germany

The warning system in the German city of Dresden is based on the technology developed by Telegrafia a. s. This solution allows the municipal authorities to inform of any imminent threats within a few seconds. The urban system includes 190 sirens controlled from a single control centre.

The purpose of building a voice evacuation public address system in Johns Manville Slovakia was to provide fast transfer of required information and to improve employee warning in the indoor areas of the plant in case of a danger, such as fire.

Autonomous warning and notification system for Gabčíkovo Hydropower Scheme

Country: Slovakia

Gabčíkovo is the largest hydropower scheme in Slovakia and produces about 8% of the total electricity consumption in the country. Moreover, it regulates the water level of the Danube and protects the surrounding area from flooding.

This hydropower scheme required a construction of an autonomous local warning and notification system, which is intended to quickly inform (notify) the competent persons in case of emergency and warn the population in the territory threatened by water. The entire system is fully automated and is based on technologies and solutions of early warning system designed for water dams developed by Telegrafia a. s. It is also well connected with the national warning system of the Slovak Republic.

Industrial warning system in the vicinity of conventional power plants

The indoor and outdoor premises with high noise required a notification system for people by means of light and sound signalization for the purpose of fast submission of the required information in case of emergencies. For this purpose, we implemented a comprehensive solution for a warning and notification system designed for the energy industry and we linked it with the existing technology in the power plants.

Warning system on the premises and in the surrounding area of the nuclear power plant in Bohunice

Country: Slovakia

Warning and notification in the exposed area around the nuclear power plant, as well as in the actual area of the power plant is ensured by use of multiple products provided by Telegrafia a.s. company, particularly by use of the powerful electronic sirens PAVIAN and VEKTRA control software. More than 350 sirens – covering a territory with a total area of ​​more than 1400 km2 – were installed.

Using sirens in the ice stadium

Country: Slovakia

The operation of the ice stadiums requires the use of a hazardous chemical – ammonia. According to the EU legislation, stadiums are obliged to establish an independent public warning and notification system in the area under the potential risk imposed by this dangerous substance. The applied solution is a local autonomous warning system for ice stadiums, which is also connected to the national warning system of the Slovak Republic.

System of warning against natural hazards

Country: French Polynesia, New Caledonia

After a devastating tsunami in Indonesia in December 2004, which claimed more than 220,000 lives, the Oceania began building a system of warning against tsunami. The electronic sirens Pavian have been installed in the islands of French Polynesia and New Caledonia and the construction of the system is still on-going. Given the fragmented location of the sirens on a large number of small islands, the most effective solution of the siren management is the control via satellites. Due to the complex infrastructure, the majority of more than 200 sirens are powered by solar panels.

Country: Chile

A very similar system of notification and warning against the natural hazards, primarily against tsunami, was built in the Chilean coastal city of Zapallar. The system is based on the use of electronic sirens Pavian.

In Romania, the warning systems are built separately in different cities, or in the so-called "judet" (districts). The construction of these systems is on-going and our technology and electronic sirens PAVIAN are used as a base for warning systems in the following cities:
